Questions from the floor

Clear the air

Common decisions, explained without promising that a fragrance can do more than the evidence supports.

Does every interior need a signature scent?

No. An unscented room may be the most appropriate choice. Begin with the room’s purpose, audience and existing conditions. If the design objective is already being met, added fragrance needs a clear justification rather than a branding assumption. Start with the room brief.

Are natural ingredients always gentler?

No. Origin does not determine safety. Composition, concentration, exposure, intended use and individual sensitivity matter. Natural extracts can contain substances with hazard classifications, while a synthetic material is not automatically less suitable. Ask about the finished product rather than relying on a single ingredient story. Read the material notes.

Can fragrance solve a persistent odour problem?

No. Investigate ventilation, moisture, drains, cleaning and maintenance before adding fragrance. Masking a smell can delay recognition of an underlying problem and create a more complicated mixture of odours. Bring the responsible building team into the conversation first.

What is the difference between bespoke and private label?

Bespoke generally involves development against a client brief. Private label commonly uses an existing product or formula with client branding. These terms are not a substitute for a contract: ask what development, revision, exclusivity and production work is actually included.

Does IFRA conformity mean a product suits everyone?

No. A conformity certificate relates to an intended use and category. It does not guarantee individual tolerance or replace site-specific assessment. Review applicable labels, safety data and instructions alongside the actual method of use. Understand the documentation.

Can the same fragrance work in a lobby and a bedroom?

Possibly, but the occupancy, expectations and delivery conditions differ. Evaluate each room separately and preserve unscented options. A noticeable arrival cue is not automatically appropriate for sleep or prolonged private occupancy. Compare delivery conditions.

How long does custom development take?

There is no universal schedule. Briefing, sample revisions, documentation, production and room trials all affect timing. Agree milestones with the supplier and allow time to test the finished product in its intended format. Avoid planning a launch around an untested first sample.

What should we do if someone reports discomfort?

Pause or remove the source, offer an unscented alternative where possible and follow site response procedures. Do not ask someone to continue exposure for the trial or disclose a diagnosis at reception. If symptoms are severe or urgent, seek appropriate medical assistance. Build a reversible trial.

Does a bespoke commission include ownership of the formula?

Not automatically. Formula ownership, exclusivity, territory, duration and manufacturing rights must be agreed in the contract. Also clarify what happens if the supplier changes an ingredient, discontinues a product or cannot supply refills.

Can I commission a fragrance through this website?

No. Junglerankmosac.pro is an independent editorial website. The worksheet creates a local plain-text brief and does not send a commission or book a service. For an editorial question or correction, use the email details on our Contact page.
